One of my greatest passions is the “50 Over 50” Portrait Experience, a project close to my heart. This special series is all about honoring the incredible women in their fifties, sixties, seventies, and beyond, showcasing their beauty, wisdom, and the profound impact they’ve had on their families and communities. Hi! I’m Geoff, photographer and owner of Oakstream Images. Photography, for me, is a deeply personal and creative journey. I believe that every person has a unique story to tell, and my passion lies in capturing the moments when your true essence shines through. Whether it’s a portrait, headshot, or one of my special projects like the "50 Over 50" Portrait Experience, I strive to create images that not only reflect who you are but also resonate with those who know you best.
At Oakstream Images, I take the time to connect with each of my clients, making sure that you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. It’s in those moments of connection that the magic happens—when I’m able to capture a glimpse of your true self, the joy and authenticity that radiates from within. Seeing my clients light up when they view their photos is the most rewarding part of what I do, and it’s what drives me to continue perfecting my craft.
My photography journey began in my high school days when I got my first film camera. I was instantly fascinated with capturing people, places and things. From there I studied commercial art and photography in college and went right to work afterwards for a commercial product photography studio in Manhattan NY.
Over the years as photography moved from film to digital I found a renewed passion for photographing people. I have done volunteer work for non-profit organizations photographing kids and families. I have also worked with small private schools doing school photos.
I started my own Portrait and Headshot business 3 years ago naming it Oakstream Images which is the meaning of my surname, Ekstrom or “oak by the stream”. My joy is not only connecting with people, whether they are young or old, but also creating a beautiful image that connects them with family or whoever is viewing the image.
